Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces coconut water
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder

Directions:

  1. Stir ingredients together in a glass over ice.

How it’s healing: Hangovers are usually due to a combination of overindulgence and dehydration. The electrolytes in coconut water and salt both rehydrate and replenish, while the caffeine in matcha helps headaches and packs a nutritional punch to heal and rebuild from the inside out.

Avocado POWER Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 slice(s) sprouted whole grain bread, toasted (Ezekiel is a good option.)
  • 1/2 avocado or guacamole
  • Lemon juice
  • Tomato Slices
  • 1-2 Fried Egg(s)
  • Pinch sea salt

Directions:

  1. Slice tomato and avocado.
  2. Layer tomato, avocado and egg(s) (one per toast slice) on toasted bread.
  3. Drizzle lemon juice and sprinkle sea salt over top.

How it’s healing: The fat in avocados and eggs, as well as the bread, help settle stomach uneasiness from the night before. Eggs contain an amino acid, cysteine, that helps break down acetaldehyde, a toxin from alcohol metabolism. Tomatoes are loaded with antioxidants, and the sea salt helps rehydrate and increase thirst, encouraging increased water intake for faster recovery.

Additional Pro FitTip!!!

Rather than experiencing even more of a diuretic effect from coffee, try tea – either green, matcha or ginger. The powerful combination of anti-nausea and anti-inflammatory properties of ginger makes it a winning choice when combating a hangover. Take it in a shot, freshly juiced, or make a tea at home!
