HOT HYDRATION

HOT HYDRATION

We often hear about prioritizing hydration in the hot summer months, but hydration is just as important in the cold winter months as well! How can we make sure we are staying well hydrated during winter?

Here are some ways to get more water into our system during those cold winter months!

Drink Hot Beverages

Hydration doesn’t always need to be in the form of water! Hot tea, hot lemon water even coffee (yes coffee!) can contribute to your fluid needs for the day. If you are consuming beverages with caffeine they will have a slight diuretic effect however a majority of the liquid is still going to count towards your water for the day. Try enjoying a nice hot cup of FIT as well if you haven’t already discovered how amazing FIT is hot as well as cold!

Make it a goal/ habit

You can keep tabs on your water intake by adding it to your nutrition tracking app or habit tracker. You can also keep a water bottle by your side to easily be reminded that you need to drink water. If you are working at a desk all day, keep the water bottle next to you so it’s readily available all day to sip on!

Food

Eat more fruits and vegetables as most have a high water content. You can also enjoy bone broth and broth based soups! You get to be full, warm, and hydrated—a perfect combo.

Remember, just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean that our hydration becomes less of a priority! Staying hydrated year round can help us enjoy winter and the holidays while keeping our bodies healthy!
